Start off with a walk through the Eshowe market place visiting an Inyanga Medicine Shop, Local Radio Station, Shebeen and Zulu Market & Bus Rank....before setting off to the Village.
Experience real Zulu Cultural village life Walter Cele or Joe Mdluli's homes in a rural traditional village. If you are traveling through our country and feel you have missed Africa, you are at the right place. Here you personally engage with local people during your walking tours through the rolling hills of Zululand right near King Shakas military stronghold where Zulu and King Shaka were born. This is their country and we give you an insight into contemporary Zulu life.
This laid back tour is a great leveller for anyone living in the first world. You meet fantastic people who have almost none of the material things that you possess but can show you things about life which you have probably forgotten. Meet Walter and Joe's families at their Zulu village and enjoy a light lunch with cows and goats roaming the hillsides around you. Hear about the first Zulu Martyr whose cross sits on the hill above Walters home.
Visit a Zulu School nearby at Ntenjane or Muntuyedwa. Interact with the children....play football during break and meet some teachers in the schoolgrounds.Of particular interest is the Cunina Orphanage where you can interact with the children and caregivers under the direction of Mrs Miss Lee Yimba. There is now a newly constructed Skills Centre where children are taught skills for their future.
Visit Masishi Mthuli's home where her familiy does great beadwork.Old ladies doing crafts, children doing daily chores, women working the vegetable gardens, schools, church services;whatever is happening at the time. On Thursday afternoon you can visit a Zionist church and hear all the beautiful Zulu singing.Remember with us no one is waiting for your arrival to perform. This is how it is in a Zulu village.
